Project Access Facts

History:

Project Access was started in 2004 by the Howard County Medical Society.  This was a project that Doctors and Community Leaders initiated to help those in our community that did not have access to healthcare due to a lack of health insurance, and were below certain income levels.  When presented with the opportunity to take on the Dentist Delivering Smiles program, we agreed to add this service.  This successful venture continued under the Howard County Medical Society until we formed our own 501c3 in 2014.  In 2015, Project Access added additional programs to help our community.  This organization now offers 7 different areas of assistance.  Primarily funded by the United Way of Howard County and the Center Township Trustee, our mission is currently to “Provide Support, Education, and Access to Healthcare for the residence in Howard County.”
